Teacher Classical Ballet / Choreography

Dance is for me: a translation of life. And with that powerful, but also fleeting language of dance, we create a piece of magic that is received as a vibration and taken into our existence.

After attending my dance education at the preliminary training Codarts, and completing the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, I worked as a dancer at the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. With this company I got the opportunity at the age of eighteen to make a first choreography for the repertoire. This was the start for many creations, both for the Scapino Ballet and Introdans, the Kibbutz Dance Company and dance academies such as the National Ballet Academy and the Stedelijk institute for Ballet in Antwerp. For the SIB Antwerp, I was allowed to make a solo for and with a dance student for Prix de Lausanne. I also created for theater companies (including Orkater Amsterdam) and opera companies. As a teacher, I work or have worked at the Amsterdam Dance Center, Dansatelier, Henny Jurriëns Foundation, KC Den Haag, and the Royal Dutch Gymnastics Union.

As extra instruction for classical dance, I have followed courses in the Vaganova Method with Kalina Bogoeva. I was also connected as a teacher and rehearsal at the Billy Elliot School. The coming year I will teach the cast of the musical The Lion King, the DCU in Utrecht and the Royal Conservatory The Hague. In addition to my freelance assignments and teaching activities, I am currently working at the Nova College Dance and Theater as a dance teacher and artistic coordinator of the Dance program.

This past year I got to know Danshuis Haarlem. This was an inspiring process and also a very warm welcome. I am therefore looking forward to further developing this collaboration in this special Danshuis!
