Coordinator. Teacher of jazz / improvisation / children's dance / production group
I graduated in 2019 from the HBO Dance Teacher Training programme at ArtEZ. Since then, I have greatly enjoyed teaching a wide variety of styles to dancers of all ages. In addition to teaching at Danshuis Haarlem, I work as a freelance teacher for, among others, Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), write as an editor for Dansdocent.nu, and have worked for many years as a specialist dance teacher in special education. I am currently completing the final year of my Master's degree in Creative Producing at the DAS Graduate School (AHK).
In my classes, enjoyment, creativity, energy and challenge are at the heart of everything I do. I believe it is important to build a strong connection with my students, so that they feel safe and comfortable in my class. This allows them to grow and enjoy themselves to the fullest. For me, dance is the perfect balance between having control over the body and letting go of the mind. If I can convey that to my students, then I have achieved my goal.
